The Toilet Brush That Cleans Without Costing the Planet

The standard plastic toilet brush is one of the bathroom's most overlooked offenders — shedding microplastics into wastewater and sitting in landfill for centuries after it's done its job. The Wild and Stone Plastic-Free Toilet Brush is the straightforward alternative. A 36 cm FSC® certified beechwood handle, a blend of Tampico and coconut coir bristles, and zero plastic anywhere in the product. When it's time for a replacement, the whole brush goes in the compost.

About the Materials

Tampico Fibre is sourced from the Agave Lechuguilla cactus, naturally grown in Mexico. It has a mild abrasive action that lifts grime effectively without scratching surfaces — durable, naturally grown, and fully biodegradable.

Coconut Coir is made from coconut husks — one of the thickest and most resilient natural fibres available. Tough, long-lasting, and completely biodegradable at end of life.

FSC® Certified Beechwood is approved by the Forest Stewardship Council® for responsible forest management, protecting ecosystems and supporting local communities.

Why Switch from Plastic?

Traditional plastic toilet brushes shed microplastics into wastewater with every use and take centuries to decompose in landfill. This brush contains no plastic whatsoever — and when the bristles wear out, the entire brush can go straight into your home compost bin. A genuinely circular product.

How to Use

Use as you would any toilet brush — apply your preferred toilet cleaner and scrub the bowl thoroughly. Rinse the brush under the flush after each use and allow to air dry between uses. Avoid soaking for extended periods, as prolonged submersion will shorten the life of the natural bristles. At end of life, place the whole brush in your home compost bin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this toilet brush come with a holder?
No — this listing is for the brush only. It is designed to work with most standard toilet brush holders, or can be stored leaning against the wall or in a jar.

What are Tampico bristles?
Tampico fibre comes from the Agave Lechuguilla cactus, grown naturally in Mexico. It provides a firm but non-scratching clean — effective on limescale and grime without damaging porcelain.

Is the brush fully compostable?
Yes — both the beechwood handle and the natural fibre bristles are fully biodegradable and can be composted at end of life. No need to separate any components.

How long will the bristles last?
With regular rinsing and air drying between uses, natural fibre bristles typically last several months. Avoid soaking the brush in water for extended periods to maximise bristle life.

Is it vegan?
Yes, entirely. Both Tampico fibre and coconut coir are plant-derived. No animal products or by-products are used anywhere in the brush.

Does it come in packaging?
No — this is a packaging-free product, shipped with a label only. Zero unnecessary waste from the moment it leaves the warehouse.
