Why Sisal?
Sisal fibre comes from the agave sisalana plant — the same plant that gives us tequila, as it happens. Grown sustainably and hand-weeded, sisal is exceptionally durable and naturally moisture-resistant, making it ideal for daily bathroom use. The bristles strike the right balance between firmness and flexibility: firm enough to lift dirt and grime from beneath nails effectively, gentle enough for daily use on sensitive skin. At end of life, the whole brush biodegrades fully, leaving no trace.
FSC® Certified Beechwood
The handle is crafted from FSC® certified beechwood sourced from responsibly managed forests that protect ecosystems, support local communities, and respect indigenous rights. A material chosen with purpose — and one that looks as good as it performs.
How to Use
Wet the bristles with warm water and add a small amount of soap or hand wash. Gently scrub your nails, focusing on the undersides and around the cuticles. Rinse both brush and hands thoroughly. After each use, rinse the brush well and stand it upright or hang it to air dry — avoid leaving it resting bristle-side down or submerged in water, as this will extend the life of the bristles and prevent mould or mildew.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the bristles made from?
The bristles are made from natural sisal fibre, derived from the agave sisalana plant. Sisal is durable, moisture-resistant, and fully biodegradable — with no synthetic materials whatsoever.
Is this nail brush vegan?
Yes, entirely. Both the beechwood handle and sisal bristles are plant-derived. No animal products or by-products are used anywhere in the brush.
Is the brush biodegradable?
Yes — the entire brush, handle and bristles, is biodegradable. At end of life it can be composted, leaving no lasting environmental trace.
What does FSC® certified mean?
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification guarantees the beechwood is sourced from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity and support local communities.
How do I care for the brush to make it last longer?
Rinse thoroughly after each use and allow to air dry upright or hanging — never resting bristle-side down. Avoid leaving it submerged in water. Kept dry between uses, the brush will last considerably longer.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The sisal bristles are firm enough to clean effectively but gentle enough for daily use on sensitive skin. Suitable for the whole family.
