When You Need to Find Your Equilibrium Again

Some days don't call for stimulation or sedation — they call for balance. The Eco Bath London Balance & Calming Epsom Salt Bath Soak is built around three essential oils that work together to restore a sense of equilibrium: neroli, geranium, and chamomile. It's a combination that has been used in aromatherapy for generations, and for good reason — each oil brings something distinct, and together they create a bath experience that feels genuinely centring rather than simply scented.

Neroli — distilled from the blossom of the bitter orange tree — is one of the most prized oils in aromatherapy for its ability to ease anxiety and emotional tension without sedating. Geranium is balancing and harmonising, often used to smooth out mood fluctuations and support a sense of inner steadiness. Chamomile is the gentlest of the three: softly calming, anti-inflammatory, and particularly well suited to those with sensitive skin or a tendency towards stress-related tension. Together, they make this the most emotionally nuanced soak in the Eco Bath London range.

The Epsom Salt Foundation

Beneath the aromatherapy blend, the base is the same pure magnesium sulphate used across the Eco Bath London range — no fillers, no synthetic additives, no artificial fragrance. Magnesium absorbed through the skin during bathing helps ease muscle tension, reduce physical fatigue and support the body's natural recovery processes. The salts also have a mild exfoliating effect, leaving skin noticeably softer after use. It's a product that works on multiple levels simultaneously: the scent works on the mind while the minerals work on the body.

Available in Two Sizes

The Balance & Calming soak comes in a 500 g pouch and a 1 kg pouch. The 500 g gives you around two full baths and is a good way to experience the blend before committing to a larger supply. The 1 kg provides approximately four full baths and represents better value for regular use. Both sizes come in resealable, eco-friendly pouches that keep the salts fresh and dry between uses.

How to Use

Add approximately 250 g — two to three generous handfuls — to warm running bath water and allow the salts to dissolve fully before stepping in. Soak for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the magnesium to absorb and the essential oils to diffuse fully into the steam. For a foot soak, dissolve 100 g in a basin of warm water and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. Use two to three times per week, or as needed during periods of stress or emotional fatigue. Seal the pouch tightly after each use and store in a cool, dry place away from moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this soak smell like?
The scent is soft, floral and gently citrus-edged. Neroli brings a delicate orange blossom note, geranium adds a green, rosy warmth, and chamomile contributes a mild, honey-like sweetness. The overall effect is calm and refined — neither sharp nor heavy, and distinctly different from both lavender and frankincense-based soaks.

How does this differ from the lavender and frankincense soaks?
The lavender soak is primarily relaxing and sleep-supportive. The frankincense and mandarin soak is more uplifting and clarifying. This balance and calming blend sits between the two — it's emotionally centring rather than sedating or stimulating, making it particularly well suited to moments of anxiety, emotional overwhelm or general stress.

Is chamomile suitable for sensitive skin?
Chamomile is one of the gentlest essential oils available and is widely used in products formulated for sensitive skin. However, if you have a known allergy to plants in the Asteraceae family (which includes chamomile), we recommend checking with a healthcare professional before use.

How much should I use per bath?
The recommended dose is 250 g per bath — roughly two to three generous handfuls. A 1 kg pouch gives you approximately four full baths, and the 500 g pouch gives you around two.

Can I use this during pregnancy?
Some essential oils are not recommended during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we recommend consulting your midwife or healthcare provider before using any essential oil-based bath product.

How should I store the pouch between uses?
Seal the pouch tightly after each use and store in a cool, dry place away from moisture. Avoid leaving the pouch open in a humid bathroom, as moisture can cause the salts to clump over time.
