The Octagonal Moka, Rebuilt for Induction
The Bialetti Moka Octagonal Induction is a stovetop espresso maker that keeps the eight-sided silhouette of the classic moka pot and adds a steel base, so it works on induction hobs as well as gas. The boiler, upper section and lid are painted aluminium, finished in a choice of Grey or Sand, with a high-gloss handle and knob, a nickel-plated brass safety valve and the BIALETTI name raised in relief on the upper section. Choose the 3 cup size for one or two people, or the 6 cup size when you are making coffee to share.
Styling
Both finishes are deliberately understated. Grey suits a modern kitchen with stainless steel or dark worktops, while Sand brings a warmer, softer tone that sits comfortably alongside natural wood, stone and cream ceramics. The painted surface and relief lettering give the pot a considered, design-led look, so it is just as at home on an open shelf or the back of the hob as it is in use.
How to Use
Start with freshly ground coffee for the best flavour. Unscrew the pot and fill the base with water up to the line inside the boiler, then drop in the filter basket and fill it with coffee. Screw the upper and lower sections firmly together and place the pot on a moderate heat, turning the handle away from the heat source and leaving the lid open so you can watch the coffee rise. Within a few minutes the coffee will begin to bubble up into the top chamber. Once the bubbling stops, the brew is ready to pour.
Care is simple: rinse the pot by hand in warm water after each use and let it dry fully before reassembling. It is not suitable for the dishwasher.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work on an induction hob?
Yes. The steel base makes it induction compatible, and it can also be used on gas.
Which size should I choose?
The 3 cup size holds 130 ml and suits one or two people. The 6 cup size holds 270 ml and is the better choice if you regularly make coffee for a household or for guests.
Can it go in the dishwasher?
No. Rinse it by hand in warm water and allow it to dry completely before putting it back together.
What coffee should I use?
Freshly ground coffee gives the best results, and pre-ground coffee made for moka pots also works well.
Why should the lid stay open while it brews?
Leaving the lid open lets you see the coffee rising into the top chamber, so you know exactly when it has finished and can take it off the heat.
Is there any difference between the Grey and Sand versions?
Only the colour. Both finishes share the same construction, materials and induction base.
Why Bialetti
Bialetti is the name behind the eight-sided moka pot that has become a fixture of Italian kitchens. The Moka Octagonal keeps that recognisable shape and the same straightforward way of brewing, then updates it with contemporary finishes and an induction-ready base, so a traditional Italian coffee ritual works on today's hobs.
