The Tea Towel That Dries Better and Lasts Longer — Without the Microplastics

Most tea towels contain polyester or microfibre blends that shed microplastics into your sink water every time they're washed. The Wild and Stone Organic Cotton Tea Towel is woven entirely from GOTS certified organic cotton — the gold standard in organic textile certification — in a classic herringbone pattern that becomes softer and more absorbent with every wash. At 48 x 70 cm and 85 g each, these are proper kitchen tea towels: generous enough to dry a full load of dishes, structured enough to hang neatly on the oven rail. Set of 2, available in seven colours.

What Is GOTS Certification?

GOTS — the Global Organic Textile Standard — is the world's leading certification for organic fibres. It covers the entire supply chain from field to finished product, ensuring the cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, processed without harmful chemicals, and produced under ethical working conditions. It is a significantly more rigorous standard than simply labelling a product “organic”.

Why Organic Cotton Over Conventional?

Conventional cotton is one of the most chemically intensive crops in the world. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers, using significantly less water. The Oeko-Tex Standard 100 dyes used on these towels are free from harmful substances — safe for your kitchen and the people who made them. At end of life, cut the towel into strips and compost it — it will biodegrade completely.

How to Use

Use for drying dishes, glassware, and hands. The herringbone weave is highly absorbent and improves with washing — avoid fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces absorbency over time. Machine wash at 60°C for thorough hygiene. Tumble dry friendly, or line dry. If an odour develops, pre-soak in warm water with a splash of white vinegar before washing.

What is GOTS certification?
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) is the world's leading organic textile certification, covering the entire supply chain from field to finished product. It ensures the cotton is grown organically and processed without harmful chemicals under ethical working conditions.
