The Last Dish Brush Handle You'll Ever Need to Buy
Most dish brushes are thrown away entirely when the bristles wear out — handle and all. The Wild and Stone Wooden Dish Brush with Replaceable Head is built differently. The FSC® certified beechwood handle is made to last for years; when the Tampico fibre head wears out, simply release the metal clip, swap in a new head, and carry on. Handmade in Germany, packaging-free, and fully compostable at end of life — this is the most considered dish brush on the market.

Why Tampico Fibre?
Tampico fibre is sourced from the Agave Lechuguilla cactus, grown naturally in Mexico — the same plant family as tequila's agave. It is naturally strong, slightly abrasive, and more water-absorbent than plastic bristles, which means it lifts stubborn residue and grease without scratching crockery or glassware. At end of life, the head goes straight into the home compost bin.
Why Replaceable?
A replaceable head means the handle — the part that takes the most craftsmanship to produce — never goes to waste. Only the bristle head needs replacing when it wears out, dramatically reducing the material footprint of your washing-up routine over time. Replacement heads are available separately.
How to Use
Apply washing-up liquid to the bristles or directly to your dishes and scrub as normal. Rinse the brush thoroughly after each use and stand upright to air dry — avoid leaving the handle submerged in hot water for extended periods, as this can affect the wood over time. Dry well between washes to maximise longevity. To replace the head, simply release the metal clip, remove the old head, and click the new one into place — no tools required. Always spot test on very delicate surfaces before use, as natural Tampico fibres have a mild abrasive action.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I replace the brush head?
Simply release the metal clip on the handle, remove the worn head, and click a new replacement head into place. No tools are required. Replacement heads are available separately.
Is this brush safe for non-stick pans?
Tampico fibre has a mild abrasive action that is effective on grease and residue. Always spot test on non-stick or particularly delicate surfaces before use to ensure compatibility.
Is the brush head compostable?
Yes — the Tampico fibre head is fully biodegradable and can be composted at end of life. The beechwood handle is also biodegradable. The metal clip can be separated and recycled.
Why is it dispatched without packaging?
This is a packaging-free product, sent with only a label to eliminate unnecessary waste. The brush itself is the product — no box required.
What does FSC® certified mean?
FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification guarantees the beechwood is sourced from responsibly managed forests that protect biodiversity and support local communities.
Where is the brush made?
Handmade in Germany under safe working conditions with a low carbon footprint.
